Menurut info dari Wikipedia Indonesia, Candi Penataran merupakan Candi termegah dan terluas yang ada di Jawa Timur. Candi ini dibangun pada sekitar yahun 1200 M sampai dengan tahun 1415 M, pada masa Raja Srengga sampai masa raja Wikrawardhana.
